In the art of film and screenwriting, it’s a good idea to limit the characters’ speech and let the actions, conversations, and scenes speak for themselves. I was drawn to the character of Dexter from the start – a dark, introverted individual. The strength of the character development was obvious, supported by a successful cast and a gripping, crime-filled storyline.
Seasons 1 and 2 stood out exceptionally well, earning a commendable 9/10
However, the quality of the show began to decline later on. The introduction of new characters and excessive drama weighed on the classic series. Despite my love for the character, I felt a gradual decline in his charm, including Debra’s charm. The writing and direction were solid, but Dexter alone was the highlight, as his dark sense of humor remained a standout aspect.
However, I must emphasize that the first two seasons are must-watches and should not be missed
His narrative throughout the episodes was a unique perspective where we learned how he viewed things, people, and crime; it was quite engaging. I recommend this series, but I encourage viewers to approach it at their own pace and choose the number of seasons.
